TEHRAN - The interim leader of the Friday prayers of Tehran has said the United States seeks to normalize its relations with Iran as a way to “infiltrate” the Islamic Republic.

Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani said the U.S. has not changed and its intention to lead the world is still intact, Fars reported Friday.

He went on to criticize U.S. officials for their recent remarks which have said anti-Iranian sanctions structure will stay in place.

“They are trying to make us compromise and change the nature of the system,” he cautioned.

“But we say to them that we will lift the things we have agreed only if they lift the things they have agreed.”
